Landing Approach
1996/1997
Room installation consisting of thirty-six models of houses, a color photo, and a felt pen drawing.
House models: cardboard and acrylic glass, 20 x 30 x 30 cm each; color photograph, approx. 35 x 20 cm; felt pen drawing on paper, 100 x 70 cm.
The standardised house models are mounted upside-down in a grid shape on the ceiling; each of the houses has between no and two windows per outside wall. On the wall below is a felt pen drawing of endless rows of cars; below this is a photo of part of an interior (television set with a pot plant) with the quotation “It is always a dream and the rest is a nightmare” written over it. The individualism striven for in the private sphere gives way to real uniformity.

Landeanflug
1996/1997
Rauminstallation, bestehend aus 36 Häusermodellen, einem Farbfoto und einer Filzstiftzeichnung.
Häusermodelle: Karton und Acrylglas, je 20 x 30 x 30 cm; Farbfotografie, ca. 35 x 20 cm; Filzstiftzeichnung auf Papier, 100 x 70 cm.
Die standardisierten Häusermodelle sind rasterförmig gestürzt am Plafond montiert und pro Außenwand mit null bis zwei Fenstern versehen. An der Wand darunter hängt die Filzstiftzeichnung, auf der endlose Autoreihen zu sehen sind, wieder darunter das Foto eines Interieursausschnitts (Fernsehapparat mit Blumenstock), das mit dem Zitat „It is always a dream and the rest is a nightmare“ überschrieben ist. Die den Privatraum betreffende angestrebte Individualität weicht der realen Uniformität.
