Equi/librium
1996
Kunst und Bau (Art and Construction) project at Gleisdorf district court(Styria).
Materials: synthetic resin coating on composition floor; laser-cut stainless steel letters. Total size: 3400 x 220 cm.
The floor installation covers the length of a corridor. The extremely elongated rectangle is divided diagonally into two areas of color, forming a silver and a red right-angled triangle, each with a very acute angle. At one end of the floor object the word “GLEICH” (equi, or equal) is written in large letters on the red surface, with the word “GEWICHT” (librium, or weight) at the other end on the silver.

Kunst und Bau-Projekt im Bezirksgericht Gleisdorf (Steiermark).
Materialien: Kunstharzbeschichtung auf Estrich; mit Laser geschnittene Edelstahlbuchstaben.
Gesamtmaß: 3400 x 220 cm.
Die Bodengestaltung zieht sich über die Länge eines Ganges. Das extrem längliche Rechteck des Fußbodens ist farblich diagonal geteilt, woraus sich ein silbernes und ein rotes rechtwinkeliges Dreieck mit je einem sehr spitzen Winkel ergeben. Am einen Ende des Bodenobjekts ist in großen Lettern das Wort „GLEICH“ (auf Rot), am anderen Ende „GEWICHT“ (auf Silber) angebracht.

1995/1996
Room installation consisting of twenty architecture models and twenty colour photos.
Architecture models: cardboard, acrylic glass, adhesive foil, model railway figures (scale 1:80). Color photographs, 30 x 45 cm each.
The urban models (tower blocks, blocks of flats) are arranged on a table, the photos are affixed to the wall in an offset grid. As a kind of zoom of the models, these photos illustrate the everyday “life” of the figures in the – on closer inspection – only seemingly “dead” architecture models, the scenes of urban (in its own way, violent) life.

1995/1996
Rauminstallation, bestehend aus 20 Architekturmodellen und 20 Farbfotos.
Architekturmodelle: Karton, Acrylglas, Selbstklebefolie, Modelleisenbahnfiguren im Maßstab 1:80. Farbfotografien, je 30 x 45 cm.
Die urbanen Modelle (Hochhäuser, Wohnblöcke) sind auf einem Tisch arrangiert, die Fotos in versetztem Raster an der Wand. Diese Fotos veranschaulichen als eine Art Zoom in die Modelle das alltägliche „Leben“ der Figuren in den – bei genauerem Hinsehen – nur scheinbar „toten“ Architekturmodellen, die darin stattfindenden Szenen eines urbanen (auf seine Weise gewalttätigen) Lebens.
